Most papers are not needed at all. Those containing sensitive information such as account numbers can be shredded or burned; other can be recycled. When you must keep a document, you can often eliminate the paper by scanning, transcribing, or downloading an electronic copy. Only a few kinds of official documents, travel guides, and tickets must be kept in their original paper form.
